The Hour Of Code Is Back!
Calasanz Bogotá School has a strong commitment to Robotics and coding, that is the reason why our awesome school held its second annual competition: The Hour Of Code.
The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. It is an attempt to teach students the basics of computer programming in 60 minutes in a fun, simple way. The HOC is part of a campaign that Code.org, a non-profit organisation, launched in the US with the goal of introducing coding into the schools curriculum and raising awareness around what coding is.
This year, Calasanz students created different stories, made games with Play Lab, they also drew cool pictures and designs with the Artist, they applied basic concepts of Computer Science with drag and drop programming and developed basic algorithmic literacy.
Our Coders really loved The Hour Of Code. It is fantastic when teachers and parents see how some Calasanz kids are spending their own time outside of school on coding games and projects.
See you next year!
To quote Steve Jobs. “Everyone in this country should learn how to program because it teaches you how to think”
